Interesting day.......

Well Thanksgiving day has come and gone now.
We had a busy day, left early this morning to go to the in-laws for lunch and then back here to home, got everything warmed up and on the table for our dinner. I have to say it was actually a 'nice' day and enjoyed spending time with everyone. I was glad my Sis here and Mom to share Thanksgiving with us and my kids and granddaughter. We all looked through the newspaper ads for the best sales to hit early in the morning. My foot is still a little swollen and sore so I doubt that I will get to share in the shopping with them. Hubby would rather sit at home and shop on line than go out to the stores, he is really into the internet! My daughter was a little stressed about having the big family dinner tonight, she said she didn't like changes in our normal holiday activities but she did come and stay awhile and I was very happy to see her here.
I also found out a bit of disturbing information today that is really eating at my gut right now, but will have to dwell on it for awhile before I decide any kind of action on it. Always some kind of bullshit to ruin a good day!!!!
Aside from that, I have a lot to be thankful for and count my blessings for my daughter, son in law and granddaughter, my son, and the rest of my family and some very wonderful friends that I love dearly.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm sure this is going to be a very busy week for everybody, lots of shopping, cooking, cleaning the house and eating!!! LOL We will be having our first Thanksgiving dinner in our new home this year. I'm real excited, my Mom and her dh Everette will be here and my sister and BIL are coming in from GA too along with my DD and her family and my son. I'm hoping it will be a very nice, enjoyable day for everybody and it's the first year my whole family has been together in about 5 or 6 years.
I'm still going to therapy and he gave me my results from my x-rays this past Monday. He says I now have degenerative disc disease in my lumbar area along with curvature of my lower spine. He said he can see why I have been having so much pain there, it's about time they can actually SEE why I am hurting. Half the time I think they just brush you off like you're not really in pain. I also went this Wed. on the 14th and had the surgery on my foot to remove the cyst that has been there for over a year now. Everything went well and my DH took the day off work and took care of me. He went and bought me a walking cane yesterday and that really helps me get around a lot better. Not been moving to swiftly with this big ass boot on my foot...LMAO We finally removed the bandages last night and put new dressing on it and it seems to be healing nicely. I think that means I've been a really good patient!!! LOL
Ohhhh yeah, and today our Realtor is having Open House on our old home and the weather is gorgeous for it, suppose to be 67 today, unbelievable in the middle of November. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that she has a good turnout and possibly gets a serious contract or two on it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Know, I know.........

I said I was going to post at least once a week, but I'm just a wee bit behind, better than I was doing though!!! This has been a really busy month so far, still going to therapy 3 times a week and not feeling one bit better than when I began. Today the doc took more x-rays and said he would discuss with me on Monday morning, but his conclusion is pretty much that I now have degenerative disc disease in my lower back too, well what the hell else is going to fall apart on me : ( They say life begins at 50, they should say 'life begins to fall apart at 50' cause I've slowly been going down hill since then.....LOL
This has been a depressing last month or so, we found out that my sister, who is 18 months older than me, has been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and has the FAST aging kind. I feel so sorry and bad for her and helpless at the same time. I wish there was something that I could do to help her and would give anything if they would move back here to TN so they would be around more family to help watch out for her and I would be able to spend more time with her. It just breaks my heart when I talk to her because I can tell she is scared and she is feeling like she is losing her independence by having to rely on her husband for things that she has always done by herself. She got lost and turned around in her local grocery store on Wed. night and sounded like she had a panic attack, she said she just feels like crying most of the time now. Also, last Friday her dh had heart surgery after just finding out he has a very weak heart, along with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I know she has been under a lot of stress with worry over him and herself. We just pray that her new medicines will help this disease slow down and she can hang in there and beat the diagnosis!!!! I am going to have Thanksgiving dinner here at my home and Sis and her dh, my Mom and Everette are going to be with us this year. My daughter, Marci and I always cook together every year and have our families together, which I wouldn't miss for anything in the world. I think we have to have some kind of yearly traditions and stick to them. I am really looking forward to all of us getting together, it will be our first Thanksgiving in our new home and I want to make it memorable for my sis!!!
On another note, anybody that knows me, knows how terrified I am of needles, so I am so proud of myself to say I went and got my flu shot last Friday....LMAO I know, big ass baby!!!! I had to go to the hospital on Wed. and get preadmission tests for my surgery this coming Wed. on my foot, I thought nothing to it, just sign a bunch of papers, let them copy my insurance card and that was pretty much it. But nooooooooo, they had to take TWO tubes of blood (panic sets in) and did an EKG to make sure I was okay for anesthesia. Now you know I am not going to think about this coming Wednesday *SURE* I'll just show up early, get it over with and come home and sit on my arse for a few days till the foot heals. One sure way to keep me home and out of the malls since I won't be able to wear any shoes for awhile..LMAO Hubby has an appt. with his cardiologist that day too so he is taking the dy off work and we'll spend it at the hospital together, how romantic!
On a better note, I finally found new curtains for my living room (woo~hoo) only took about 3 months. Trying to get the house all spiffed up and the rest of my things unpacked before company arrives for the holiday. I still don't have any kind of pictures or decorations on the walls but hey, you can't ask to much of me...LOL And I actually have my Christmas shopping started ~ doing the happy dance! Well I guess I have bored you long enough........just wanted to get some thoughts down and keep my promise to post here weekly.
I'm seriously hoping things will calm down some now so I can do some of my ditital scrapbooking and post some of my layouts, which is why I created this blog to start with. I'm looking for some classes that I can take online or some good tutorials that I can learn with, in the meantime I'm a downloading fool with all the freebies some of the wonderful, talented gals are posting. Heading to bed now, got a busy weekend ahead of us. Till next time........

Happy Halloween!!!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

I hope everybody had a great day and didn't get spooked to much tonight.

Today is the first Halloween that I haven't got to spend with my daughter Marci and granddaughter Megan : ( Since we moved I knew they wouldn't want to drive to our new house which is about 45 minutes from their home so I was sitting here with hubby watching TV and feeling all sad and depressed cause I didn't get to go out trick or treating with the little one and since we live in the boonies we hadn't had a single gobblin at our house......

All of a sudden the door bell rings and there stands Megan dressed as Hannah Montana (which is her idol right now) she had her Mom and Dad hide so I wouldn't know who she was......LOL They sure made my day by coming by and sharing their story of their trick or treating in our old neighborhood tonight. Marci said she even went to our old house ~ which is empty right now and up for sale~ and rang the door bell 'for old times sakes' lmao That's my girl !!!!

Our house is up For Sale ~ FINALLY!!!

On Sunday, Oct. 21 we finally got our house listed with a realtor and now have it listed on the www !!!! I was about ready to give up after all of the work that we have been doing trying to get it ready. Every time I thought we were finished there was something else that had to be done, like trimming hedges, mowing, covering the pool, repainting rooms, etc. Our realtor is doing an excellent job so far and is expecting to have an Open House on it next Sunday. I'll be keeping my fingers and everything else crossed that all goes well....LOL Of course, I do realize that this is a horrible time to expect a fast sale with the market being slow and the holidays and cold weather creeping around the corner. But, at least I think all the work there is finished now and I can concentrate on fixing up our new home. We've been here over two months now and I still don't have my curtains up ( I do have blinds over the windows) so no peeping toms allowed!!!! LMAO

Still been going to my therapy three times a week for my neck and back. Had a horrible spell with it Friday night and Saturday. I honestly think it is getting worse but can't blame the doc, I'm not suppose to be doing any work and just spent this past weekend painting the bedroom ~ twice! No pain, no gain....

I'm hoping to gain more time now to work on my digital scrapbooking, which is the reason I created this blog in the first place, so I can show off and share the pages that I make with my family and friends. I have a few pages in the works so hopefully soon I can show you what I've been learning *grins*

Well that's about it for today, been a long one so I am heading off to la la land...

Am I pitiful or what???

Well I started out with good intentions of posting here at least once a week.....
now the months have flown by since I have gotten to sit down and write here, this is definiately what I would call 'pitiful' . But I do have plenty of what I would call "excuses" lmao
On August 11th we moved into our new house which was a very exciting, nerve wracking, tiring day. My son Chad and son-in-law Skeeter helped us do the moving, well, actually they did all of the moving for us and had us settled in by the afternoon. Thanks again so very much guys, couldn't have done it without ya!!!
The next day was my birthday, and I tell ya, I could feel every single day of my long life. roflmao I had so many aches and pains and would have just as soon spent the day in bed. It's hell getting older.
After we get moved in and half way settled here, then we have to start going back to our house that we moved from to get it all nice and spiffy so we can put it on the market to sell. We thought this would be a fast deed and not take to many days to complete, well it's been two months and we're still busting our ass to get finished! Of course we haven't put a lot of time into it this past month, just kind of lost heart and our bodies feel like they've lifted the last paint brush and hammer they can handle......LOL We are all finished now though and should be meeting the Real Estate lady this weekend and get the ball rolling, although we don't look for a speedy sale the way the market is right now, that's just our kind of luck.
August 25th was Mom's birthday and my sister and her hubby came in from GA to visit so we all went to Outback for dinner with Mom and Everette and then everybody came here to the house to see it, we had a good afternoon and enjoyed seeing everybody.
I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and now am going to therapy three times a week and that will be reduced to twice a week real soon. I can't really tell the therapy is helping any but what the hell, it can't hurt. After we got moved in here, I wanted to start getting myself back into shape (never was what you would call 'in shape') so I joined a local health club, leave it to me to injure myself on the very first visit, doing water aerobics of all things!!!!! LMAO My poor neck and shoulders just weren't use to all that movement so it stirred up my herniated discs real good this time, I'm having therapy on that too, just can't wait to see what else is going to fall apart on me.
My daughter Marci and her hubby have been visiting with us pretty often and I sure do enjoy seeing them here. Her and Megan argue over who is the real owner of my 2nd bedroom..LOL They have stayed the night with us several times and we are going to start having a Pajama Party once a month where we'll play cards, watch a good movie, etc. and they'll stay the night with us. We had a great time last weekend together, played some Rook and Uno and drank a 'little' wine, went out to Wendy's hamburgers and picked up supper. Here's to many more Pajama parties in our future!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I could ramble on and on about what's been going on in my life the past few months but I probably have already put you to sleep. LMAO Anywhoooooo, I do plan on being a better blogger now and hopefully post my life's happenings at least once a week, mainly that's cause I don't want to forget anything.. roflmao I've got to change my header soon too, it was hot, summertime when I started this and now the Fall leaves are coming down with Thanksgiving looking right at us and Christmas commercials already on TV, where does time go???? Okay, that's it for now!!!!!!

I'm so excited, I finally learned how to get a new header put on here.....
Doing the Happy Dance.......LOL This is a picture of my daughter, granddaughter and me
at the beach last week. Looking at the pic makes me want to go back there and sit on the
beach and listen to the ocean waves again, well that's another year off now but sure gives
me something to look forward to.
My dh has been on vacation the last two weeks and we've been busy working on our
new house trying to get it finished so we can move in by the end of the month. He went
back to work today and things are getting back to normal around here at home, settling back
into my normal routines. Had a busy week last week, we worked at the new house every
day, well except I didn't work on Tuesday, came down with a bad stomach virus or something
and ended up lying on the couch all day with my head stuck in the trash can.......lmao
Better close for now, getting late and I have a dentist appt. early in the morning, always
look forward to that........NOT!!!

Well it has been almost a week since I last posted, but had a lot going on over the last week.
Came down with a stomach virus for two days which kept me mostly in bed but feeling much better today. We're building a new house and it's taking a lot of my scrapbooking time : (
The move is planned for the end of this month so hopefully I can get back to learning more
about digital scrapbooking and playing in my PSP again. I have been searching for information
on how to add pictures and a header to my new blog and found a great, informative site so I am
hoping I can have time this weekend to get this page fixed up all pretty and start adding some
of my layouts I have made (very few right now) but anxiously waiting to find time to get some
more finished. I hope I have something nice for you to look at when you come to visit me here
and if you have any helpful information on getting my blog set up I would be so deeply in your
debt.......LOL That's it for tonight, getting late and heading off to la la land.

Oh my goodness, my very own blog....LOL
I don't really know why I had to have this lil space here, but I've had so much fun
reading others blogs and seeing the GREAT digital layouts and freebies that they have
shared with us.
I love Paint Shop Pro and have been dabbing around in it for about four years now.
I've always been a paper scrapper but over the last 6 months have gotten very addicted
to digital scrapping.
This lil space of mine here is where I am going to post my layouts that I make and once I
learn how to make a header for my page here I'll pretty my new home up some...lmao
Okay, that's enough for my very first post on my very own blog so I'll close this post for
now and go and see if I can learn how to decorate my new blog!!!!
