Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone and a joyous, prosperous New Year.
I sure had a great Christmas and enjoyed spending time with all of the families during the week. I think we were busy every single night of the week beginning on Sunday with a family get together at Dan and Kathy's house. I always love going there, Kathy has got to be one of the best decorators I know and her home always looks awesome on the inside and out. That girl has to spend a month just getting her decorations out. Kathy, if you're for hire I'd love you to come decorate my house for me *lmao* Monday night, Dan, Kathy, Jimmy, Peggy and Brandy came to our house and then we all went out to eat together at Puleo's grill, of course I ate way to much but sure did enjoy the time we spent together. Christmas eve, hubby's kids came here for a get together and on Christmas day my kids and their families were here. I had an extremely great day, forgot to take as many pictures as I had planned to and got in the egg nog and rum later in the afternoon (yummmmm) I felt it was time to kick back and enjoy the rest of the evening *winks* Marci serenaded all of us with Christmas music way into the night ~ Love ya Kate!!!!
As for now, most of my Christmas decorations are carefully packed away except for the tree. I'm debating on whether to leave it up until after New Years day or not but it's really wearing on me looking at it sitting here now that all the presents are gone so we'll see if it makes it or not...... I'd like to wish everyone a wonderful, safe New Year and wish the best of everything to you. I think we're planning on having a small get together here with the kids, that way I don't have to worry about them being out drinking and driving as they stay the night with us. I got my bottle of champagne today and party favors and hats for everyone, now to pick up some snacks that everybody will enjoy and let's Get this Party Started!!!!! *lol* HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

Where have I been???

Where have I been you ask? *lmao* I do believe this has been one of the most hectic years of my life. We have spent every weekend the past six months trying to find a house to buy so we can move back home and be closer to our family. The way the economy is right now and home prices falling, nobody wants to put their homes on the market, so our search will continue.
I spent the most part of this year going to doctors for my back and neck pain. I was referred to a specialist who referred me to a Spine specialist doctor. I went through two series of spinal injections to see if that would give me some relief. It may have a tiny bit, but not enough relief for me to go through the injections again, so I'll just try and learn to live with it for now.

On August 25, 2008 was my Mother's birthday, the family got together to take her out for dinner at O'Charley's, my sister and BIL were in town and went along with both my kids, Megan and Losa. I think Mom really enjoyed herself and was glad to have all of the family there with her. The next morning, August 26, 2008, Mom was scheduled to have surgery on her legs to help unclog the arteries in both of them. She was wanting to have cataract surgery on her eyes and this had to be done first. She did very well through her surgery and was recovering at a good rate, then they told us she was getting pneumonia and she caught a staph infection. Mom was so terrified that she would catch that and had my Uncle George to pray with her the night before her surgery. On September 7, 2008 we lost our Mother. There is an empty spot in my heart and I miss her so very much. I didn't know that it would be this hard to not have her in my life. I have her on my mind constantly and the holidays are going to be so very sad without her with us. I see her pretty smile on her face each time I think of her and would give anything to tell her that I love her one more time. You are very sadly missed Mom.....I Love you so much....

What a Freaking week this has been......

Where do I begin? I went last Wed. to get highlights put in my hair, now this is nothing new to me I've been doing it for about 20 years now. On Friday afternoon I start getting blisters all over my forehead at my hair line and by Saturday morning it's blood red!!!! I got a little worried so went to the walk in clinic and the doctor said that it looked like I had chemical burns from the hair color and gave me a script for an antibiotic and all should clear up in about a week. On Wed. morning I wake up and my eyes are swelled half shut where the infection has ran down into them which scared the holy crap out of me so I'm on the phone calling my regular doctor to get me in and do it NOW!!!! Well, she gives me a new script for a stronger antibiotic and because my eyes look so bad sent me to the hospital for an eye specialist to look at me. He gives me yet another script for eye drops to use for 10 days and if not any better to come back, I've been using them for 3 days now and the swelling has went down very little but I can tell they are feeling better. I tell you with all this crap going on I've been a nervous wreck, it feels like my whole scalp and forehead are just 'crawling' all of the time and stinging and burning, needless to say I can't use my blow dryer so I've looked kind of on the pitiful side all week sporting my new hair highlights.......LMAO Things are looking up by tonight though and I do feel like my forehead is beginning to heal, ya know how I can tell??? It's itching like hell now...LMAO All I wanted was some pretty blonde highlights for the summer time and I get this, another week in my exciting life!!!!
This weekend is Mother's Day, so if anyone is reading this I hope you have a wonderful day and get treated like the special person you are : ) Happy Mother's Day

Where to begin on catching up........

March was a total whirlwind, we spent many days visiting Evelyn at the nursing home, then I caught the dreaded flu that has been going around so bad this year, had that crud for over three weeks and I hope to say that I never get that crap again!!!

March 20th was Daisy's birthday, she is a big 3 years old now. Marci had the day off work so I went to visit with her and Punkin and we went shopping together and lunch at Ruby Tuesday......yum!!! Had to stop in Pet Smart and pick up some gifts for the birthday girl. I really enjoyed the day and the time I got to spend with my girls : ) Wish we could do that more often, I sure miss them being just around the corner from me and getting to see them all of the time, more than anything I miss all the girl talk and time I got to spend with Sis. I hate this new city we moved to, it sucks! Closer to everything and away from my family.

I started taking some online Paint Shop Pro lessons and am enjoying them, it helps take up some of my time, gives me something to do and I am also learning a LOT more about this awesome program. I love working with graphics, pixels and doing digital scrapping.

On Marci 31, Evelyn passed away, she is at rest now. The next few days were busy spending time with the family and making all of the preperations for the funeral. The service and funeral were very nice.

April 17 was my baby girl's birthday!!!!! Yeah, Happy Birthday Marci : ) She had the day off from work so we went shopping at the mall together and had lunch, it was a great day and I enjoyed every minute we got to spend together. I wanted to give her something special that you couldn't just go out and buy, so I made her a scrapbook for her that was All About Her!!! I think she loved it and I'm glad I chose that to give her. It took me two weeks to get it together, once I started going through all of my photo albums looking for pictures of her by herself, I got lost in the albums and spent hours looking through them......LOL It also brought back lots of wonderful memories of times throughout her life and the joy and laughter she has brought into my life.

LOVE YOU KATE!!!!

Spring is finally here and I'm wanting to get this yard landscaped and start a small flower garden, right now the yard is totally naked. I've got my flower bulbs started in pots on the deck and they are almost ready to plant out in the yard now. I don't want to spend a lot of money putting things here, just enough to make it feel like home here and give me something to do outside, no pool this year so it will be pretty boring, not much to do and no one to do it with. Did I mention that I hate this place : (

Well, I think this pretty much catches me up for the past two months, going to spend today packing up my winter clothes and see what I can still get into of my summer ones...LMAO How in the hell do you put on so many inches during the winter time??? LOL I need to get my fat ass on my Gazelle so I'm ready for the beach this year, Oh Yeah, I'm so looking forward to vacation time!!!!!!!!! Pack up the margarita's and let's hit the road!!!

Here's one of the birthday pages I did for my baby girl's album....

Till next time.....

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! I guess this is the holiday for lovers and sweethearts and getting gorgeous new jewelry, flowers and candy from your sweet pea. I spent the day at the hospital with my sil Kathy watching our Mother in law. She had a bad fall last Friday night and broke her hand/wrist and hurt her foot pretty bad.
My Sister and bil are in from GA visiting this week too. I met her and my Mom this morning and we did a little shopping together. I enjoyed the time we got to spend together and will be glad when she moves back here. They're out looking at land today and I think they have pretty much picked out their lot for their new home.......YEAH!!!!!! Not much else happening around here, waiting for Spring and warmer weather to get here so I can get outside and enjoy it and hopefully find me a good, safe area in town to start walking and get my arse in shape for the summer ....LOL Till next time........

Happy Birthday Megan

Megan's birthday was Friday, Jan. 18. She is now 9 years old, hard to believe how quick she is growing up. Marci brought her to the house Friday night and we had a little party for her and Sat. morning we went to Build a Bear and let her pick out the monkey she wanted to make this year : ) She had a slumber party that night with 5 of her school friends, I think her Mom made sure she had a very special birthday!!!

This is a busy birthday month, two of my best friends have a birthday on the 25th, Happy Birthday Cee and Judy (((((*smile*))))) and hugs. And my sister's birthday is on the 29th, Happy Birthday Sis!!! She lives in GA and will be in visiting this coming weekend.

The weather has been really cold this past week, a couple days our high temp was 14 and we had an ice storm here yesterday, there were wrecks everywhere. The temp wasn't that cold, around 29 but enough moisture and rain and sleet the night before it all froze on the roads.

It was MLK holiday on Monday so I kept Megan since she was out of school and we went to the movies to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, it was a cute movie and we had a nice day together. She was suppose to teach me the new dance 'Cha~Cha Slide' but we kind of forgot about it, so we'll save that for her next visit.....LOL I have to keep up with the kids : )

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!

Better late than never.........LMAO
The past month has been very trying for me but I'm trying desperately to put it behind me, I'm just not real good at that. LOL What can I say, I'm female!!!
All in all Christmas was very good, the kids all came to the house and stayed most of the afternoon and Mom and Everette came for awhile too. We didn't cook a big meal, just had some tasy finger foods and lots of deserts, which I am glad is all gone now, 7 lbs gained later : ) I think everyone had a good day and enjoyed their gifts. I know Megan did, she wanted a camcorder so that's what we got her, along with some clothes. Marci got me a neat Dirt Devil broom vac that I just love, sure makes sweeping these hardwood floors a lot less dusty. Dwight got me an external hard drive!!!!! * smiles * I've got to stop downloading all of these wonderful digital scrapbooking supplies ( NOT ) I've got plenty of room to store them now, also been busy burning things to disc so I don't chance losing anything. He also got me a very nice winter white suit that I love and we got each other a new recumbent bicycle to help us get in better shape and lose some of this extra weight we have put on during the holidays ; )
Now that all the holidays are over I am going to try to keep up my poor blog better than I have been and also get more organized here at home. I do pretty good except for planning meals, I HATE cooking!!!! LMAO : )
Well, that's it for today, off to get on the bike for awhile and go see 'what's for supper'.
